Yeah, I know I'm lucky. I was away for 11 days floating on the cool azure Caribbean waters from port to port. When I was on the ship, I lost all relationship to time and place. I didn't know the time, the day, no Internet, no phone, no wi-fi, no watch, no obligations, just floating along with 1999 other cruisers.
The ship was large and luxurious. Lots of wood, marble and brass. The people who worked on the ship were from around the world: Philippines, Brazil, Italy, Russia. They got to travel all the time. We met so many people from other parts of the world when we went to dinner, we dined with others. Great conversations!
The best part was being able to visit five different ports: Aruba, Columbia, Panama, Costa Rico, Bahamas. By far the greatest experience was riding the ship through the Panama Canal. Just amazing! 100 year old Wonder of the World.
Hope that everyone gets to travel like this some day.
