Homework for Language Arts Classes

         

  • READ AR Book for 40 minutes every night. Next and final AR book test for this marking period is due Thursday, March 19th
  • See the board for daily assignments

Read

  • EQ's: How to write an informative essay?
  • EQs:  How does reading AR books impact your achievement level?
  • Common Core Assessment and writing from sources Workbook - each student has been given one of these. This week we are completing the three steps of reading and writing on  pages 35-66

Warm-Ups 

  1. Warm-up:each day write something to reflect on your AR book that you are reading for homework. Keep these one one sheet of paper and turn in on Friday

Homework
Research topic from Chapter 9 - conduct research - see below
Listen to the news and bring in relevant, recent news stories to discuss. Write a summary and reflection of one news article for the week.

EQ:What is happening in the world and how does it impact our lives?
Social Studies Research Project
  1. Pick a focus/topic from Chapter 9.  Examples: Supreme Court, Amendments, The Senate or House of Representatives, States vs Federal
  2. Research information: what is it? What does it do?
  3. Create a 5 question Survey to ask students about your topic.
  4. Send survey to classmates. Analyze the results.
  5. Create a Google slideshow and presentation explaining your topic and the results of the survey.

Chapter 10 The Bill of Rights 
EQ: Why do we need the Bill of Rights.

Read the chapter in the Brown Text  and create a booklet that describes each of the ten Bill of Rights.
