Mark Twain Literary Terms

  1. Narrator - the voice telling the story
  2. Point of View - the perspective from which the narrator tells the events
  3. Third Person Point of View  - the narrator is an outside voice
  4. Omniscient - all knowing, to know about all the characters thoughts and feelings
  5. Irony -  a special kind of contrast in which reality is the opposite of what it seems
  6. Dramatic Irony - the narrator reveals something that the story character does not know
  7. Style - how a work is written, how something is said
  8. Humorous Tone - an amused attitude toward a subject
